On The Job Training (OJT) is what I can defined as one of the interesting part in college life of a student. Finding a company where to enter is a hard thing to do. How could you imagine that not only the Filamer Christian College had a requirement of OJT but also with the other schools. We group ourselves into five students and we need to enter into one company, it is very hard to find a big company in Roxas City that can accept a five persons. We find ourself walking under a hot temperature of a sun just to find a company. Finally this is it, we land in Airport, Yes in PAL as in Philippine Airlines, we got a chance to see the manager of PAL-Roxas City and a million thanks that he accept us. But… How sad that I can’t join them, because we need to report as early as 4:30 am and I can’t do it. What I can do was to find another company were I can be. We inquire at Standard Insurance and they accept us.

In the first day of duty, I fell nervous and so scared even though I already know the employee because in my ACS, I was able to undergo OJT on the same company. This is another chance to be part of standard Insurance and to learned more about how their company work and how the employee treat each other. I was able to learned also how to faced with different kind of people visiting in standard, learned to follow exactly the instruction of the task assigned on me.

Wow.. One of my unforgettable experience in Standard Insurance was when they bring us on their outing at Panay. We really enjoyed their company, and we got a chance to know them more better. My experiences in OJT at standard was really a great opportunity to develop my skills and knowledge.

In the end, OJT is one way to enhance or develop your self confidence to faced whatever task assigned to you. It does’nt matter who are your boss is as long as you performed your work will.

Captivating Capiz -Roxas City

Capiz came from Akean and Kapid (meaning -”twin”). Twin in the local dialect is “kapid” but due to their difficulty in pronouncing the “d” in “kapid” or as inadvertently miscommunicated to them by the natives. Still, some old folks believed that Capiz got it’s name from “Kapiz” or “pios” which were found in abundance at the time. Roxas City is a second class city in the province of Capiz, Philippines. It is the capital and component city of Capiz. The City of Roxas, once known as the municipality of Capiz. PANAY is one of municipality in capiz where you can find the biggest bell. PONTEVEDRA also is one of the municipality in capiz which celebrates the “Guyumguyuman Festival during the month of May.

Roxas City is?

When you hear the word Roxas city what first come on your mind? Of course, since Roxas City is the component city of Capiz which is located at the heart or center of capiz we can say that it is one of the most beautiful place to visit when you come here in capiz. Why is it? It is because capiz is the seafood’s capital of the Philippines where you can find the different kinds of seafood’s, like alimango, pasayan, diwal and many more.

“Festivals in Roxas City”

Roxas City is celebrating many festivals like Diwal festivals in every month of October, the highlights is showing the many harvest of Diwal, where you can see the biggest Diwal. Roxas City also celebrating the Aswang festivals in every month of November, to prove that the people living in Capiz are not Aswang. The most well known festivals in Roxas City Capiz is the Sinadya sa Halaran Festivals, there are many activities schedule in this festivals, like the search for Mutya sa Sinadya sa Halaran, the grand parade where you can see all the local official together with our very own Senator Mar Roxas.

As what I have experience when I enter college life it is not an easy life. In college you learned everything and anything. You meet different kind of people, you encountered different kind of professor. College life is not that enjoying as high school life because you need to have a goal, you need focus more in life, and you need to decide what profession you want to enter.

The Story of a Girl!!!

The story of her life started when she was 2 months old. Her mother went to Manila to look for her father, the little girl was entrusted to her grandparents. She grew up with out her parents on her side and never felt the love and care of them.

Her mother decided to worked in Manila, days and months pass by, she was able to met her husband, her father… again… and they live together until such time the she got pregnant. Then the time came that she gave birth to a baby boy.

Her mother decided to went home in Roxas City alone and poor little baby was left and entrusted to her Tito in Manila. When she was in Roxas City, she never tried to visit or took a little glimpse of her daughter. Instead she met another guy and she fell in love with him. They lived together, they were able to love each other, until they got children.

The little girl was in an elementary education that time, she finished her studies by the help of her grandparents and her Tito, not only her elementary, the endless love and support of them continued until she graduated her high school without even supports - financially and emotionally, came from her parents to nourished her needs in her schooling. Without any hesitation she conquered all the obstacles along the way, with God’s guidance and giving her people who darely care and love her…she entered college proudly at FILAMER CHRISTIAN COLLEGE taking up Associate of Computer Science (ACS) and one of the TESDA scholars.

She was able to graduate that vocational course, she find job thinking that she have an enough knowledge to find right job to earn and be able to help her grandfathers. But she was wrong…

With that, she opt to continue her course as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) in the same school, now she is in her fourth year college hoping to graduate this school year.

With all those situations she still hoping to find her father and her brother that even in the picture she never had seen. However, there still questions linger in her mind, Does my parents really love her and recognize her existence? Do they even think her situation? Will her life be happy with them? What is the feeling when you grow up with your parents?……..That she never find an answer ……still looking for the answer…..in the world of uncertainty…
